There’s something about photographing a friends wedding that makes it extra special. I first met Hannah and Phil through our local young farmer’s club a few years ago. ​ Hannah and Phil are both local business people- Hannah runs her own Farm Made Tearooms and Phil is a dairy farmer helping to run the family farms in Cheshire.​
​
Hannah got ready at her childhood home in Rainow where they had the fabulous Katie from Adorn beauty to do their makeup and Hannah’s friend Claire who did a brilliant job of the bridal party’s hair.  
​The church was a two minute drive to Pott Shrigley church where I was greeted by Phil and his best man. Hannah was walked down the aisle by her brother Will, knowing both Will and Hannah, this was quite a lovely moment. Pott Shrigley is a beautiful church in a lovely village location. I have photographed a few weddings here and you’re always made to feel welcome. After the ceremony, Hannah and Phil were given a traditional farmer style guard of honour by Members of Macclesfield young farmers (a club that Hannah has been chairlady for). They were congratulated by the wedding guests before being showered with confetti. ​

The marquee was set up on a field just behind Hannah’s mum’s house with the most spectacular views overlooking Bollington and beyond- truly amazing view. ​
The whole day was really relaxed with the guests enjoying the day. The catering was done by Beech Tree catering and the drinks kept on flowing by Local Bar. Two suppliers I have worked with at numerous weddings and events which both offer a top service. After the speeches, it was time for the bride and groom to cut the wedding cake. Hannah had done a wonderful job at making her own five-tier cake! -I know amazing! The day was topped off with a magical sunset over the Cheshire countryside.
​After the first dance, it was time for me to get changed, put the cameras down and enjoy the remaining day as an evening guest.

Emma & Chris- Rural wedding
I first came across Emma and Chris after seeing their engagement picture go viral over social media. Chris proposed to Emma by clipping “MARRY ME” into one of there cows on their farm. In fact, i actually tagged my sister in the post with a little hint to her boyfriend!
A couple of months later Emma got in contact with me as I had photographed one of her friend’s wedding, I knew from the proposal that this was going to be such a fun wedding- and that’s exactly what it was!
I met up with Emma and Chris during the week of the wedding. The wedding reception was being held on Emma’s family farm in North Wales. I was greeted by Emma’s black labs and we sat and discussed wedding details over homemade cake and Tea. In the Garden, friends were preparing the flowers ready for the big day whilst Emma’s Mum was finishing the wedding cake.

The Day itself had very mixed weather, it rained quite a bit during the morning but by the afternoon it had cleared up quite nicely. Lucky as Emma’s transport to church was a vintage tractor and trailer. The bride, bridesmaids and flower girl all looked lovely in their dresses. The marriage took place just down the road at Emma’s local church. The farming community gave the bride and groom a ‘pitchfork’ guard of honour as the came out of the church. -Something that’s very traditional at young farmer weddings. Emma and Chris were greeted outside the church by their labradors.

It was soon time to head off to the marquee at the farm. The grounds and garden looked stunning, all the hard work and hours in the garden had certainly paid off. The reception was very relaxed with friends and family enjoying the canapes and drinks whilst I did a few family group pictures. After the speeches, the sun was setting quite nicely. I suggested to Emma and Chris we go and get some evening pictures. We set off down the field, in the landrover to find a perfect spot. The cows were not being left out and took up every opportunity to get in on the pictures!

Having been brought up on a dairy farm myself I knew Ryan and Becky through our local Young Farmers Club, I had the privilege of photographing their 21st birthday a few years before. Ryan and Becky are both Dairy farmers themselves so I was so excited and honoured when they asked me to photograph there wedding on their family farm.

Becky got ready at her parent’s house where they had the fabulous Katie from Adorn beauty to do their make up. The family Jack Russell, Molly was not be- ing left out with her beautiful ribbon collar and a pose for the camera!

Once ready the bridesmaids were transported to the church by a vintage bus and Becky and her dad in a classic Bently.

The ceremony was held at St Lukes church in Goostry with over 180 guests attending. The young farmers had organised them a pitchfork guard of honour as the couple came out of the church. One of my favourites parts of the day was when Ryan had arranged a convoy of tractors from the church to the reception. The Reception was held at the farm. Reception drinks took place in the barn and gardens before guests were taken to the marquee that overlooked the pond and garden. Speeches were before the wedding breakfast and guests were treated by a homemade limoncello drink made by Becky’s Mum, Jenny.

It was a September wedding and the weather was very mixed., sun in the morning and rain in the afternoon. September is one of my favourite months to photograph a wedding because you get a fantastic sunset, this day was no different. After the rain clouds had cleared in the evening and me, Ryan & Becky headed off on the gator, down the fields to catch the sunset in their favourite field.

Becky & Ryan were both brilliant to work with, the day was very relaxed and I loved shooting every minute of it! Thank you for letting me capture your day,

Tim & Laura got married on a sunny afternoon in July at Tim’s family home in Cheshire. Tim and Laura wanted a relaxed and chilled day and that’s exactly what it was. They both had put a lot of effort into the preparation of the day. The bar in the marquee Tim had made himself from pallets as well as a lot of the decorations and decor. The bride, Laura had made her own wedding cake and I have to say she did an amazing job.

Laura got ready at her house in the morning where she had her hair and makeup done along with her bridesmaids. She had opted for each of her bridesmaids to have a different pastel colour for the dresses. The flowers arrived in the morning that were done by the very talented; The flower House.

The bride comes from a farming family and arrived at the church in style, on a John Deere tractor that was driven by her Grandad. They got married in the picturesque village of Pott Shrigley church and the service and marriage was conducted by Tim’s grandad. After the service has finished I went with the bride and groom up to the brides family farm up in the hills where we did a few portraits. This was a great opportunity for Tim & Laura to take the day in, overlooking the stunning views of Cheshire and the peak district.

We headed over to the reception where guests were being entertained by a bouncy castle and country games. The Canapes and gin cocktails were certainly flow-ing as the guests chatted and enjoyed themselves in the sunshine. Tim and Laura had opted for a buffet style meal of cold meats and salads and homemade desserts. In the evening the weather turned and it poured with rain however this almost meant skies became a purple colour and we were treated to the most spectacular sunset. The celebrations continued into the night with a live band followed by a band.
